I want to schedule my Nest to automatically turn off for certain hours of the day. The plan I have with the power company here charges you a huge excess charge for power used between 3-6pm so I would like to turn off cooling during that time period. When I am home I can handle this with the eco mode sch by increasing the cooling temp from 74 to 82 for example but when I am away from home the eco mode kicks in and will let the temperature rise to 82 during the night and morning but then will turn on cooling during 3-6pm to keep at the 82 temp. How can I allow eco mode to reduce cooling while we are away but to not turn on at all during 3-6pm or to set an even higher temp for that part of the day.

Hi GConover,
Thanks for reaching out to the community! I understand you want to create a schedule for your Nest thermostat to stop cooling between 3 and 6 PM to avoid peak charges, especially when you're away, as Eco mode isn't preventing cooling entirely during that time. I'll be glad to help you with this!
To find the best solution, I have some questions for you:
What is your Nest thermostat model? Please check out the following link for your reference: How to tell which Nest thermostat you have
Which app are you using to manage your Nest thermostat? Is it the Google Home or Nest app?
When you're away, is Eco mode primarily triggered by your phone's location, or is it already set on a schedule?
Please keep me posted. I look forward to your response.
Best regards,
Juan
