Temp is 5 degrees lower than set, opening furnace gets it going

We installed the Google Nest about 6 wks ago.

About 4 times now, the temperature in the house gets cold. Most times in the evening, but today it was in the morning. Temp is set to 70, but house is at 65. I tried upping the temp on the app, nothing.. turned the fan on, from the app, and it works... so hubby went to the furnace pulled the side of the furnace off, and the furnace turns on again. This has fixed the issue all 4 times.

He is hating the new thermostat, because it is leaving us cold.

I have the thermostat to turn down to 68 at 11pm-6am, I just turned that off.. so temp will always be 70. That would not have rectify when it did it around 9pm

Any suggestions of what could be the issue would be greatly appreciated

Hi @Marj!

Thank you for posting in the community. I'm sorry to hear that the temperature in your house is dropping to 65 when your Nest Thermostat is set to 70. I appreciate your efforts in taking those steps before. I'm happy to help you!

To help me find the best solution, I'll need to ask you a few questions:

  • Which model of Nest thermostat do you have?
  • What is the make and model of your HVAC system?
  • Are there any error codes displayed on the Nest thermostat when the issue occurs?
  • Could you provide me with a photo of the wiring configuration?

Please keep me posted. I'll be waiting for your response.

Best regards,
Geremi
