Thanks Google for increasing pollution

What a shame you force your customers to throw working electronic devices in the landfill. It's a thermostat not a nuclear reactor. Making your customers toss working devices in the garbage just so you can try to swindle another $200 from them is shameful. Do no harm my ass.

Hi @pbarnett865

I get the frustration with devices that lose support.

There might be a recycling option depending on your region though:Learn about Google's recycling program - United States - Google Store Help

I understand no longer providing support, but to remove access to devices is not good customer service and is horrible for the environment. Shame on you.

Why disable access to a device?

I hope there’s a class action lawsuit coming Google’s way.

It is unacceptable Google decides to just stop services for first and second generation Nest thermostat devices for which we paid quite a lot of money. This seriously disrupts my trust in the company. They offer us a discount on a new device. Yeah right, how long will that stuff be supported? I will no longer be buying Google products. @Rando_Boomer yes lol you're right, I better report this to European authorities, I hope Google will get another big lawsuit for this if they don't restore the services.
