I see that you’re experiencing trouble where the always-on screen display isn't working on your Nest Learning Thermostat 4th Gen, and you're finding it hard to read the data across the room, especially when you don’t have your phone with you. The Farsight feature allows you to enable or disable the display menu information on your thermostat screen when it notices you enter the room or approach the device itself. Additionally, the Nest Learning Thermostat 4th Gen comes with a Dynamic Farsight, which means when a person is far away, a larger, easier-to-read font is displayed. As a person walks closer to the thermostat, a more detailed display is shown. Nest thermostats are designed to maximize energy efficiency, which is why the display automatically dims when not in use. This helps conserve power.
