My new Nest thermostat worked marvelously during the winter heating season. Now that it's summer cooling season, the temperature swings too widely, i.e., when set on 76 it gets too warm and on 75 it gets too cool before cycling off. Manually adjusting the thermostat, there are 3-4 notches on the dial before the digital number changes to the next degree up or down. Is there a way to force it to maintain a narrower temperature range?

We've settled on leaving the thermostat at 75 during the day. It waits until it's a too-warm 76 before cycling the HVAC on, and then it stays on to a too-cool 74 before it cycles off. Is there not a way to program it to keep the temperature in a narrower range?

Hello everyone,
Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry.
The Nest Thermostats don't have the ability to adjust the temperature range so that the system turns off and on when it reaches the target temperature. With an algorithm of at least 2–3 degrees difference, it helps the system cool down and avoid sudden activation. You might want to check the Eco temperature settings so you can set a temperature range while saving energy.
Also, please let our product team know about it through feedback and have a look at this article for more information about Eco Temperatures, as this thread will be locked in 24 hours.
