Thermostat requires two attempts to start furnace

cboshdave

Just like another post I found, my thermostat (purchased brand new a week ago) seems to take two attempts to start the furnace.  The first is short.  Less than a second.  Then, it hesitates and starts the furnace up properly.  Everything else seems to be fine.  I saw the other post, but there were no answers.

Hi cboshdave,

Thanks for reaching out ― let's see what's going on.

Give these steps a try:

  1. Check your air filter, as a clogged filter may cause a similar symptom.
  2. If the air filter is dirty and needs to be changed, I recommend replacing the air filter and let us know if the issue continues after you change the filter.

Keep us posted.

Best,
Mel

I replaced the filter.  It was bad, but a day later, it's still doing the same thing.
