What's the best way to determine if heating are currently turned on by the Nest E thermostat by looking at the Nest app ?

Hello dbch,

Thank you for taking the time to let us know about your inquiry. I'd love to help.

The best way to determine if the system is running and heat is activated is when the screen turns orange. But how's your thermostat? Are you experiencing any problems? Please let me know so I can assist you further.

Regards,

Mark

Hi there,

I understand the Nest app can be confusing. The app will only show an indicator if the system is on and if the set temperature is changing. Also, if an issue occurs, the app will let you know and show a report. Please check out this guide to ensure that the notification is enabled.

Feel free to let us know if you have more questions.

Thanks,

Mark

Hi dbch,

I've got you. Here's an article with sample photos of what it looks like when the heating is turned on. Also, apart from the color indicator, you might have seen "Heat set to," and the screen would turn gray when the system was off or if it reached your target temperature.

Let me know if you need more help.

Regards,

Mark
