furnace blower

MrRoboto

My first heating system with my new Nest thermostat. On every heat cycle, I noticed first the blower will run for about 5 seconds, then shut off, then the furnace ignites normally, and blower will turn on as it should. Just wondering if that initial 5 second run of the blower before igniting is normal with the Nest thermostat. It never did that with my old thermostat on the same furnace.  Other than that, the thermostat and furnace are working fine.

Hi MrRoboto,

Thanks for reaching out. I'm sorry to hear that you're having an issue with your Nest Thermostat. I'd love to know more about this and I have a few questions:

  • What type of Nest Thermostat do you have?
  • How is your Nest Thermostat wired?
  • What is the power reading of your Nest Thermostat? You can find this info by going to Settings > Technical Info >  Power.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Edward

It is a Nest Gen 3 Learning thermostat. I have attached a photo of the wiring. In the picture it looks like the white wire is not in all the way, but since the photo I have corrected that with no change. The Battery is 3.850V,  Voc is 39.45V,  VIN is 38.49V, LIN is 38.15 V Lin20220725_094814.jpg

Christian from Nest contacted me and had me check my equipment settings. Turns out mine was set on electric furnace, while I have a gas furnace. I made the change, and the problem has been resolved. Thanks Christian!
