hold for x period of time

Nest support on my Lowe's review has suggested to me in the past that I remove the schedule from my Thermostat (which seems to make the product somewhat pointless to own). But I figure I'd provide the feedback here as well the when I set a temperature to override the schedule it should ask or default for a period of time. While I'm sure this is another item Google would get into a lawsuit over as I'm sure someone owns the IP, it seems this feature would be a critical feature for any modern thermostat. So get those lawyers brainstorming a workaround of the existing patients. So the nest can provide the ability on how to set the temperature for a period of time but to go back to the schedule after some amount of time so that this thermostat isn't undoing my changes 20 minutes after I made them just because I didn't wait around for the next event in the schedule.

Yes, it would be useful (and standard on my old basic cheap stat) to set 19c for 2 hours!

You can set the temperature hold when you're using the Nest Thermostat. The Google Nest Thermostat introduces different ways to manage temperature control for your home. When you set your Nest Thermostat to hold the temperature, it will maintain that specific temperature for as long as you want.

No it won't on a Nest Gen3 learning stat, it will only hold till the next scheduled change - so Ii can't set it to stay at a temp for a period of time if it overlaps a schedule change

So. if mine is set ECO 12c mode at 9:30 pm and I set it 20c at 8pm it will change at 9:30 to ECO mode - if I then set it to 20c it will stay lke that all night sweltering until my 7am 18c - so I will have to remember to set ECO mode again

That article states - The hold temperature feature is not available for The Nest Thermostat E or Nest Learning Thermostat.
