programming the new nest thermostats gen 4

Is it possible to program the new nests so that they aim to achieve the set temp by the set time, rather than try for the programmed temp after the set time?  For example I would like to set my thermostats to try to get to 20 C by 7 AM; thus the thermostat would have to calculate based on current temperatures when to switch on - say at 3, 4 or 5 AM perhaps depending on outside temperatures.  As it is when I set the desired temp for 7 AM that is when the thermostat calls for heat.

Hello @GaryAllan

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest Community Forum. I understand you’re wondering if the Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) includes an option where the device calculates the necessary start time to achieve the desired temperature precisely at the scheduled time. It’s a pleasure to share more information.

Yes, the Nest Learning Thermostat (4th gen) offers a feature called Early-On; it automatically calculates how early it needs to start heating or cooling to reach your scheduled target temperature precisely at the scheduled time. To learn more about this feature, check out the following article: Early-On

Please let me know if this information was helpful.

Thank you for the info.  I will be working through this.
