Can't print from laptop but from android phone

Hi there,

Since upgrading from my ISPs WiFi router to the nest wifi Pro mesh WiFi system I can no longer connect to my brother dcp 1612w printer and print / scan from my laptop. I can however connect the printer to the new WiFi (old WiFi is off) and I can also print via WiFi from my android phone. All devices are connected to the same WiFi, same access point as well. But no chance trying to find and set up the printer via my laptop (windows 11). Uninstalled all drivers, reinstalled, restarted everything multiple times. Have also reset the printers network settings etc.

Any ideas?

Thanks

Simon

Have you set your Windows Wi-Fi network profile to "private"?

Have you tried wiring your printer to Nest Wifi? If you need more ports you can add an unmanaged switch. Here's an example of how you'd do it (2nd and 3rd Nest Wifi point should either be wirelessly connected to the primary Nest Wifi unit, "wireless backhaul", or connected to the switch like the diagram shows, "wired backhaul"):

If neither makes a difference: What exact printer are we talking here?

I don't work for Google.

Setting the Windows Wi-Fi network profile to "private", then removing & adding the printer again, has solved the problem. Thanks so much!

Hi SimonPeters,

It looks like olavrb was able to help you sort this out. Before I mark things as resolved, is there anything else you might need?

Thanks,
Jeff
