I was able to set up the first Google Wi-Fi unit and it has internet, but the mesh connection points are failing to connect to the Wi-Fi.

Hello

Please post more information about the error you are getting.
Try to get the routers more close together, and add them with the Google Home app.  See if you can build the mesh close together, and later you move the routers away.
