Google Mesh Blocks Only My Personal Domain

wizzkinder

I use Bluehost for my website and emails, all with one domain name. I use a Google Mesh Wifi with a Spectrum modem. On any devices connected to my Google Wifi  my website and email is blocked - unless I use a VPN or Personal Hot Spot,

I have verified at my internet provider (Spectrum) and at Bluehost that they are not blocking my domain. Bluehost even permanently "whitelisted" my home's IP address. When I do factory Google Wifi resets or even delete my Google  "home" and create a new network, sometimes it works for a while but the block returns. I have to engage a VPN to check my email or to update my website. ALL OTHER websites are fine. Never a problem. This is a specific block on one domain which I use for email and website. Any suggestions greatly appreciated!

Thanks,

Wizzkinder

Hi, @wizzkinder,

Thank you for posting in the community. I apologize that your personal domain is blocked. I'm here to help you find a solution.

To resolve this, I recommend contacting your internet service provider to request a static IP address. Once you have this information, please follow these steps:

  • Open the Google Home app.
  • Tap Favorites, then WiFi, then Settings, and then Advanced Networking.
  • Tap DHCP IP reservations, then Add IP reservations.
  • Select the device you want to assign a static IP to.
  • Enter the static IP address provided by your ISP, then tap Save.

After assigning the static IP, check if your website and email are accessible on your phone.

Please let me know how it goes.

Best regards,

Ana

Hi, @wizzkinder

Thank you for your response. I apologize that all your devices are unable to connect to your personal domain website and email. I'm happy to assist you further.

To isolate the Google WiFi device as the primary cause of the domain issue, please confirm if you've tried using a static IP address.

Additionally, I'd like to know if you've contacted your Internet Service Provider (ISP) to inquire about any potential restrictions related to that domain, email, or website.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Ana
