I have Google Nest Wifi (Router + 2 points) from last two years. Everything was working fine and was really happy with mesh system. Unfortunately last week my LAN port stopped working and all my devices connected hardwired via switch stopped working. No issue with wifi connected devices.
I have opened the case with Google and they mention that unfortunately we are all stuck on the warranty status of the device which expired on Jan 2021. Any suggestions to address the issue and get some kind of help with courtesy replacement of the router?
Don't want to switchover to other router just because router LAN port stopped working and no issues with two points installed. It has only been two years since I have purchased this system, and I do not feel that the components should be going bad this quickly.
I see many guys have issue with LAN port.

Have you tried factory reset (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/6246619?hl=en) then set up the network again from scratch with the Google Home app (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/9548301?hl=en)? Worth a try.

Hi Olavrb,
Thanks for responding. Yes, I did factory reset and started all over from scratch. Spend couple of hours with Google tech support and finally they concluded that issue with LAN port.
Unfortunately the product is out of warranty and they cant do anything to help resolving the issue. I can use the router for wifi but not for hard wired devices.
I am thinking of new setup for my hardwired devices.
For Wifi Devices:
Optimum Modem --> Optimum Router --> Gooog wifi Router --> Wifi Connected devices
For Hardwired Devices:
Optimum Modem --> Optimum Router ---> Hardwired Connected devices
I believe many people are facing the issue with LAN port but Google is not accepting that fact.

I see, sounds strange indeed. Also that multiple are facing this issue, indicates to me that it's maybe a software issue.
I've escalated the issue, let's see what Google does about it.

So, out of desperation, I purchased a brand new nest router today. The lan port worked for about 15 minutes the stopped and the wifi stopped as well. I unplugged the switch, rebooted the nest, now I have wifi back but still no lan. I find it hard to believe that the lan port is not working right out of the box on a brand new switch

What are you connecting to the LAN port? Might be some device going rogue with things like STP (spanning tree protocol) or DHCP.

I actually just logged on to post this exact same issue. I've rebooted, factory reset, followed all the normal protocols, to no avail. I also purchased a new switch that appeared to work for about 10 minutes then stopped.
My Nest is also two years old, which is concerning. I dont want to have to switch all my wifi devices to a different brand, that could get costly. However, I also do not want to have to purchase a new Nest every two years.

I know Bea1, this is kind of frustrating. Considering we have so much dependency on these devices, going bad within two years is BIG NO.

I too have the same situation as you. I got mine in June 2020. I contacted support and since the warranty is expired, it is not covered. So 549$ CAD for 17 months of Wifi is too steep for me

hi Edward,
Thanks for looking into this issue. Yes, I tried connecting the devices directly to the Google WiFi's LAN port. First I tried my desktop and then other devices through switch and w/o switch. But same issue.
