Google Nest WiFi Pro - Wi-Fi 6E Not connecting to Internet

Santiagood1976

I bought a pair of these, and have a Fiber Service at home, The ISP is up and connected through a modem that connects to a Access Point. If I change it to my google access point, It generates WIFi but is not able to connect to Internet. If I leave the ISP’s access point connected and attach a cable to my Googles AP  to generate a Mesh network it works perfectly. Please help

Nest Wifi will only wirelessly connect with other Nest Wifi units, it can not be used to create a mesh with other brands. The primary Nest Wifi unit must always be connected by ethernet to something that gives it an internet connection.

Are you trying to make Nest Wifi mesh with your modem?

I don't work for Google.

No, I’m not trying to mesh with other brands. I’m trying to connect the Google units directly to the internet. The problem is it works with the ISP wireless access point, but the Google one doesn’t.

Hey Santiagood1976,

You mentioned that your ISP's modem has a wireless network capability. In the case where you have that, you'll need to disable the wireless network functionality of the ISP's modem and only use the Nest WiFi Pro to generate the wireless signal. You might also have to look into putting your modem into bridge mode if you're still having issues. You can see information about that here: https://goo.gle/2yoUK3X.

Thanks,
Jeff

Hello thank you very much for the help.

At the end I didn’t solve my issue. I was looking to implement Google Wireless directly to the ISP modem. At this moment the isp modem is connected to a wireless acces point from their own brand(I want to eliminate this extra equipment and replace it with th Google one)

When I disconnect the wireless equipment my google device can generate the wireless network, but can’t navigate online. That is what I need to know if there is any parameter, so that this can be done. It actually is configured by DHCP

Hey Santiagood1976,

I appreciate the update. To cover all bases, connect the Ethernet cable securely to your ISP's modem and your Google Nest Wifi Pro's WAN port. After that, begin setting up your network in the Google Home app.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,
Lovely

I did that, I even connected it directly(not through the parch panel/wall outlet and had the same result. Wifi network working/no internet connection
