Google Router much slower speed than google wifi point.

Hello, 

I purchased Google wifi about 1 month ago. We have a 1,150 sq ft apartment. My google router(pod) is on top of a shelf (about 5ft 9in off the ground) in living room. Google wifi pod(looks the same as router) is in our guest bedroom towards the back of the apartment. It’s on a shelf about 3ft off the ground. Living room router speed stays around 55-85mgps & is wired. Guest bedroom wifi pod is also wired, but speed is consistently above 200mgps. Mesh test says great connection every single time. 

why is there such a vast difference in speeds? I’ve reset both, called a google rep, restarted the entire system, and nothing seems to work which is disappointing for a $70 1 gig wifi service

my service is running great as of the last few days. Not sure why, as I didn’t change anything on my end. iPhone 13 Pro Max getting download speeds from 130-440 mbps depending on where I’m at in the house. Thanks for the help anyways!
