Hi all,
I’m having issues with my Google nest throttling down my download speed by about 50mbps. My incoming signal (Optus 5G) from the tower to my Nokia FastMile router is around 131mbps (see attached screenshot from Speedtest app, run on the wifi network that the Nokia FastMile router puts out). My Google nest wifi is connected to the FastMile unit by a cat6 Ethernet cable. The download speed that the Nest wifi is putting out is around 81mbps when there’s no strain on the network.
Any suggestions you can offer as to why the Google network is so significantly throttled would be most appreciated!

Could be double NAT:
Could be a misfunctioning ethernet cable, capping you to FAST ethernet (100mbps), not gigabit (1000mbps). Which is common when people get capped to just below 100mbps.
Could be the built in QoS functionality based on "fq_codel" that tries to automatically adjust to the variable bandwidth a 4G or 5G modem provides.
I'd try to bridge the modem if possible, and make sure the cable between modem and Nest Wifi is giving gigabit speeds.

Hi Latinman,
Have you already tried the suggestion olavrb made to put the modem into bridge mode?
Thanks,
Jeff
