I have a three floors town house with an additional basement, my main Wifi Pro (router) is on the second floor, and the secondary nodes on 1st and 3rd floor work as expected, but when I try to configure the one on the basement, it just keeps showing that can not connect to the mesh network, although my Wifi signal is good on that area (according to my Pixel). I was wondering if the one on the basement needs to have a signal directly from the Principal Wifi Pro, or what could be the issue? I thought that it just needed to have a signal from any of the other nodes, even from the secondary ones. Could you please point me out on the right direction?

It should work, mesh (802.11s) supports multiple jumps, but prefers as few as possible. Are you using an iOS device for the setup? What error do you get? Have you seen this troubleshooting guide for iOS?
You could also try to set up the 3rd point with it being in the same room as your primary unit. Let it update itself and reboot, then unplug it and move it to the basement.

Thank you for your reply, I'm actually doing the setup from a Pixel 7 Pro, I'm not getting an error, what I get is a weak signal message on the Home Panel. The secondary node that is giving me this message is actually closed to another secondary, but not that close from the primary. I'm attaching an image to show you.

If a secondary can get through directly to the primary at all then it will, even if that means using a poor quality connection. I know this is counterintuitive, but in most situations, it's better than going through an intermediate. It sounds like you already have good signal quality in the basement. If that's the case, I think I'd just not deploy that fourth unit down there at all. More access points isn't always better. You may also find an alternative arrangement where you deploy two access points on the first floor, but offset from each other, forming a triangle with the second floor primary to be a better option to provide solid coverage throughout the basement.

I actually had to stick to just three nodes, since the fourth one is still trying to reach the primary node, I get access at the basement nevertheless the internet speed is very slow in there, outside of that spot everything else works smooth. Any suggestions?

Hello everyone,
@eceron, thanks for keeping us posted. To further isolate the issue, let's try switching the fourth Nest Wifi Pro with one of your two access points from either the first or third floor and placing the other point in the basement. After that, check if there are any improvements in the quality of your internet connection.
If you are still not getting a strong Wi-Fi signal, you can change the placement of your access points to get better coverage. Go through this article to learn more: Where to place your Wifi devices.
Keep me in the loop with the result.
Best regards,
Lovely
