T-Mobile promotion

My T-mobile home internet is terrible. The first 25 days were awesome, but now it's the worst internet connection I've ever experienced. The Gateway (modem/router combo) shows "Excellent/Very Good Connection" but my devices don't have a strong connection. Even Ethernet doesn't work anymore.

T-mobile's customer service says it's due to their towers and would be fixed in 2-3 months. My question is, with the current promotion of the Google Mesh Wifi Router, would the Google Mesh Wifi Router actually help with my Tmobile home internet issues? I can't even turn off the Router function on the Gateway - it's not an available option.

Or is it a lost cause and should just switch to Spectrum internet?

The reason I've been considering of holding onto T-mobile's home internet for the next few months of terrible service waiting for the towers to be fixed, is because I got it locked in to $25/m for life.

So, can the Google Mesh Wifi help? Or it wont help and should still wait for towers to be fixed to keep the $25/m? or switch to Spectrum already?

Sorry for the lengthy post, i just want to be detailed as possible. Also,i had to type this in on my phone, because my laptop doesn't have internet connection as I just explained why 😔

Google Wifi / Nest Wifi is not a modem, just a home router. So no, it can't help with your internet connection.

I don't work for Google.

Hey folks,

@olavrb, I appreciate your help here.

Thanks for reaching out, @Tony_77. The Google Wifi and Nest Wifi devices need a reliable internet connection from your T-Mobile modem so they can give you a stable and strong connection throughout your house. These devices have no way to improve the WiFi signal since the connection they provide depends solely on your ISP.

Hope this answers your question.

Best,
Lovely
