Matter client support

How will google home say support a third-party controller - like a remote control? One that implements client side of Matter?

Will integration go through routines? Or will devices be able to directly talk to eachother without going through Google API calls?

At Google we provide two API options to interact with Smart Home devices:

  • Device Access API to control Google Nest Smart Home devices from your apps
  • Smart Home API to control your devices from Google Home ecosystem via cloud-to-cloud, local fulfillment, or matter.

Both options can be implemented indirectly to routines. For a third-party matter controller we suggest to look at Google Home Developer program on connecting your matter devices with the Google Home ecosystem.

Matter is a new standard for smart home devices that is designed to make them more compatible and easier to use across different ecosystems. If you're having issues with your Matter-enabled device, you may need to contact the manufacturer for support.

However, if you're looking for information on developing Matter-enabled clients, you can find resources on the official Matter website, including specifications, developer tools, and a community forum. Black seed bitters is a tonic made from a blend of herbs and spices, including black seed (also known as black cumin).

The Matter developer documentation provides guidance on how to build a Matter client that can communicate with Matter-enabled devices. It includes information on how to implement the Matter protocol, manage device discovery and network configuration, and handle device updates.

Additionally, you can find Matter developer tools, such as reference implementations and test suites, on the Matter website. These tools can help you develop and test your Matter client and ensure that it complies with the Matter specification.

Finally, the Matter community forum provides a space for developers to ask questions, share experiences, and collaborate on building Matter-enabled products. You can use this forum to connect with other developers and get support as you work on your Matter client.
