Hi there,
According to the link below, a Matter device needs annual recertification for the WWGH badge. May I know why this is necessary?
If our project doesn't release a new firmware version, do we still need to recertify annually? Or do we only need to certify when we release a new firmware version?
If we don't recertify annually, or if the original firmware version or a newly released firmware doesn't pass certification in the new year, what impact will this have on products that have already obtained the WWGH badge and are being sold in the market?
Thank you.

Hello @RayChang ,
Thank you for reaching out to us with your question. CSA/Matter has its own requirements but for WWGH re-certification, we want to ensure that user experience is being reviewed on a regular basis. Today this is just an automated test for get the WWGH badge. The need for annual re-certifications is done keeping in mind the cloud integrations where scalability could bring service quality deterioration.

Hello @sipriyadarshi ,
Thank you for your response. I understand the reason for annual recertification; however, I still have some questions:
1. If our project doesn't release a new firmware version, do we still need to recertify annually?
2. If we forget to recertify annually, what impact will this have on products that have already obtained the WWGH badge and are being sold in the market?
Could you please provide more information on these two questions? This will help us with our product release planning and ensure our products continue to comply with WWGH standards. Thank you.
