Apple Music default plays live versions of songs on nest hub

BeauD
Community Member

Hi,

I have noticed my nest hub defaults to playing live or remixed versions of popular songs instead of the more common standard versions, it seems to do this wherever it can and if there are no live versions it will play the normal song

I will give it a standard command like “Hey Google, play Hotel California by The Eagles” and it will play the “Live on MTV” version instead of the regular hotel California.

it’s an issue that happens quite regularly and having it resolved would be of great help.

Thanks

Hello BeauD,

Thanks for visiting the Community.

Sorry to hear about your experience when playing songs on Apple Music using your Google Nest Hub (2nd gen). To confirm, do you experience the same issue when you use the Google Assistant app on your phone? When did you notice the issue?

Please try unlinking and re-linking your Apple Music account from the Google Home app then check if you'll still have the same issue.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi

Hi Muddi, I don’t use the google assistant on my phone so I’m not sure if that would happen. I noticed the issue when I first started using the nest hub about 4 months ago.

after unlinking and relinking Apple Music from my google home app and the next hub it is still playing live versions.

  2. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  3. Touch and hold your device's tile.
  4. At the top right, tap Settings and then Device information.
