Broken routines AGAIN!

Rinse & Repeat:
This is a repeating current Google problem as of this current week - Routines once again are not working properly. There were no Google updates and all my stand alone apps are up to date. I did not change add or remove anything. They simply stopped working AGAIN (like usual). I'm sure they will be back up and running eventually - this is a typical Google home problem! Since discovering this last night I reprogrammed EVERYTHING, reset up ALL my routines, rebooted my router... NO CHANGES!

The whole problem is in the presence sensing function again - it is not triggering ANYTHING either way this time - whether I am home or away! This is unacceptable because it happens all the time! WHY?

Hi @duglop,

Thanks for reaching out and providing detailed information. I understand that you're encountering some issues with your routines when you are at home or away, and I appreciate the troubleshooting steps you've already taken. I'm here to help you find a solution together.

To assist you further, please attempt the following questions:

  • Have you experienced any power outages in your area?
  • Is this a personal or household routine?
  • Do you see an entry in the Home app feed for the routine running?
  • Is the Activate Routine toggle enabled?
  • Did you receive an error message notification or verbal response from the assistant-enabled device on which the action failed?
  • Is your personal result on?
  • Are both your Google Home app and smartphone operating system up-to-date?
  • Can the action be performed with the Google Home app or Assistant voice command?
  • What model of your Google Home device is it?
  • Did you notice another issue when you try to use the voice commands or just with the routines?

Additionally, you check if your presence sensing is on or off.

  • Open the Google Home app.
  • Tap Settings.
  • In the home features section, tap presence sensing.
  • Tap the switch next to Allow this home to use phone locations to turn it on or off.

You can also turn off just an individual phone from being used for presence sensing.

In the meantime, you can follow these articles:

Please keep me posted.

Warm regards,

Jeremy.
