Calendar Events from Deleted Calendar

I have a google home mini. I have a routine to tell me what's on my calendar for the day when activated. I needed to download an old school account about 1 year ago, and it added events to my calendar. I deleted it from my phone and disassociated it with any of my calendars I actually use and it's not shared anywhere. Within the last 4 months, my school locked and closed the calendar, so I can't edit it or access it.

When google home is activated, it still tells me about events from that calendar that I did not add or accept (mass add to everyone with that domain on the part of the school), like "last chance to drop for second block" or "Spring registration opens today." I didn't ask for it, I did accept it, I removed it, my calendar is locked. Yet I still get notified of them when they come up. My phone app's calendar (Samsung) doesn't show them, google calendar app doesn't show them, calendars.google.com doesn't show them, yet google home mini insists they exist. These were added by the school to repeat indefinitely. How do I fix this? Google Home Mini already truncates my calendar by the number of events, so I don't hear something because of an invisible task I was never a part of. HELP!

Hi lethebestest,

That certainly hasn’t been easy for you. Let’s take some troubleshooting steps.

  • Open the Google Home app > Devices > Tap your Google Home Mini > Settings > Remove device > Remove.
  • From the Devices tab, scroll down to Other Cast/Local Devices > Tap the Google Home Mini you removed > Add to a room. Follow the prompts in adding it back to a room.
  • Reboot your Google Home Mini. Unplug it from the power outlet for a minute.
  • Monitor if it will still notify you with your old calendar events. If so, factory reset your Google Home Mini and set it up.

Let me know how it goes.

Regards,
Alex

I have done all of this. I googled extensively before I reached out, and I used to work in IT so "turn it off and back on" is always number 1 on my troubleshooting list. I even changed wifi network names which forced me to remove the device, factory reset the mini and bring it back online. Finally, the cord I use is easily bumped so it gets unplugged and plugged back in all the time. Still getting the events after it reloads.

And it leaves you to wonder: All these curative steps are device specific. If it's the device that's the issue, why does it do the same thing regardless of the device? I have 3 google home minis in my house and they have all given me ghost event notifications.

Okay, but what did that do? It feels like the form into the void version of this chat thread.
