Can no longer request a Spotify playlist

Ruby7

I used to be able to say "play my XYZ playlist" or "shuffle my XYZ playlist" to any of my Google speakers. But now it chooses one word of what I asked for and either plays a song with that word on the title or a song by an artist with that word in their name.

This is such an essential function, and it's not listed on the page of commands that are no longer supported. What's the deal?

Hi, @Ruby7,

Thank you so much for reaching out to the community. I’m truly sorry a playlist or song is playing when you request another playlist. I’m happy to help you and find a solution.

To gather more information, please provide me with the following information:

  • What is the specific model of your Google Home speaker?
  • What exact voice command did you use to play the desired audio content?
  • Does this inconvenience only occur with a specific playlist, or does it happen with other playlists or songs as well?
  • Do you have Spotify Premium?

For now, let’s try these troubleshooting steps:

If none of the above steps resolve the inconvenience, you may need to perform a factory reset on your speaker. Please note that this will erase all settings, so back up any important data before proceeding. You can find instructions on how to set up your speaker again here: Set up your Google Nest or Home speaker or display.

Keep me posted.

Best regards,

Ana
