Can’t invite anyone to my google household

LirWm

If I try to invite someone to my household it says can’t send invite right now.

The account I am trying to invite isn’t a G suite account but the account  sending the invite is.

If you are using the Google Home app with a Google Workspace or G Suite account, you are not able to invite a Gmail user to your Household. Re-installing the app does not work.

Google it is crazy that you can't invite a person using a Google Workspace account to your Google Home household. This has been a problem for at least two years. When will this be fixed????

I just set up my nest and I'm having the same issue. I won't be recommending Google products anymore

I saw a large thread from a couple months ago with many replies of same error for me.  I keep googling because by now they have fixed the error right?

apparently not. I can’t even add my husband to my home.  It goes through the entire process until you hit send and it just says

“Can’t send invite right now” and has a button to “Try Again” yet apparently people have been trying for months.

do your developers even look at these threads?

We’re not asking for a feature!!  We’re asking for a BUG TO BE FIXED!

The Google Home App will not let you add household members!!

sheesh.

Hi Tina,

Sorry to hear that you're still having these problems.

Would you mind letting me know if the accounts that you're trying to add are G suite accounts or Workspace accounts? Or are they personal gmail accounts?
Also, have you tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app?

I look forward to hearing from you.

Best regards,
Garrett DS

Why is my reply marked as the correct answer? It is not an answer at all, only clarifying the problem which still exists.

This is seriously the most frustrating customer service experience  I’ve ever seen play out online.

The question is definitely not answered and there is no solution to this problem at the moment. Please acknowledge this, and don't pretend it is answered as an excuse to lock the thread.

I’m trying to add my husband with a plain old gmail account.  It will not let me.

in addition my app is up to date.  Why would I uninstall it and lose control of my entire home?!

We have minis all around the house. We have two nests.  Plus lights, etc.

I refuse to have to redo my entire house because GOOGLE CANT SEEM TO FIGURE OUT WHY MILLIONS OF PEOPLE CAN’T ADD PEOPLE TO THEIR HOMES!

I have shared an image of the error we are all getting.  That’s what this entire thread is about.

Quit acting like the problem has been solved!!!

Hi there,

I'm sorry about the frustrations that this is causing and I definitely want to help still.
We lock threads if we don't hear back from the user for several days and we check in to make sure that they are still there.
As stated previously, I would suggest uninstalling and reinstalling the app, and clearing the cache from the app as part of the troubleshooting steps that we can further know what other actions need to be taken or if it's something that is going wrong with the app on your device.

Please let me know if you have any other questions.

Best regards,

Garrett DS

Hi there,

I understand what uninstalling and reinstalling the app does, but that is one of the troubleshooting steps that we ask users to go through.

If it’s happening to HUNDREDS OF PEOPLE perhaps it’s because of Google and not the user.

sheesh!

you do realize to uninstall and reinstall the   Google Home App that means I will literally have to reset every device in my house?

and then what?  It still won’t work!

because it’s a GOOGLE PROBLEM NOT A USER PROBLEM!!

I personally don’t need any help because we reset the device and used a different account but it seems like other people still need help

Hey folks,
It looks like we haven't heard back from the OP so I'm going to go ahead and lock the thread. If you have any further questions or concerns, feel free to create a new thread.

Yes, of course, because you made no effort to solve or even recognize the issue. Everyone who uses Google Home with a Workspace account are unable to invite regular Gmail users to the Google Home Household. This needs to be fixed. The problem is still there. Re-installing the app does NOT fix the problem.
