Can't open or play YouTube on Nest Hub itself

I'm going crazy, I feel like I'm being gaslit, but no matter what I do or say I cannot get YouTube to open on the Nest Hub itself.

90% of the time, if I click on the YouTube "app" on the Nest Hub itself (or, heaven forbid, try using Assistant) I get this response:

"I looked for videos on YouTube but it either isn't available or can't be played right now"

The only times when I don't get that are when it instead decides to hijack one of the smart TVs somewhere else in the house (not even the same room that it's in in Google Home)" and it'll say:

"Playing recommended YouTube videos on (TV name here)"

I can force YouTube to open by either using the search function to search for YouTube and clicking on a video from within the built-in browser or by casting from my phone, however, this thing also constantly fights having anything cast to it.

It's on a fast Wi-Fi router, and doesn't have any problem playing videos once the videos are going.  I have rebooted and factory reset it more times than I care to admit at this point. Am I the only one going through this? Whenever I search the error messages it gives me I don't find any other people experiencing this online, so I can't tell if I just have a crappy one of these that does not work or if this is a wide-ranging problem and search is just impossible in the year 2025.

Help?  I have video of it doing this if it would help.

Never had issues like you described, but lets work together and try to figure out what is going on.

What is an exact command you are giving it, word for word, so I can try to replicate the issue on my Hub.

Sorry I didn't respond sooner, for some reason the response went to spam.  I recorded a video the day of, here's me trying to launch it a couple of different ways and failing.

Same thing is happening to mine! The only way I've gotten it to work without just casting YouTube from my phone is saying "hey Google, open YouTube on (hub device name).

Same here, all the time.
