Hi there,
I have read through all threads that seem to touch my issue, but no success so far.
Starting in July, from one day to the other I couldn't use voice commands anymore to play media to a speaker group.
Usually I went like "Play Radio XYZ via TuneIn to Group A" and it worked like a charm. I even used such commands in Home automation routines.
I am using both Chromecast Audio devices and Xiaomi Smart Speakers that work with Google Assistant.
None of this has been an issue until recently, the devices are updated and properly working. They have wifi connection, can all be seen within the Google Home app and work together a a group as soon as I manually activate them via the Favorites section.
It's just that the Google Assistant cuts of the part when I say "... on Group A". It's even cut off when I check my recent activities in Google Home. I read somewhere else I should use an old Android device and install a very old Google Home version to delete some "ghost" devices that might be clogging up the place. That didn't work either.
I experienced the problem the first time around the time when Home version 3.37 was introduced, but I don't know if it's even a Home issue or rather a Google Assistant thing. Anyway, it sucks not to be able to use those groups via voice and I wonder if there's a solution I haven't found yet.
To repeat myself: It all worked fine for YEARS and all of a sudden it stopped. I've read so many desperate posts that I don't have much hope anyone at Google would actually care.
Cheers
Pat

Interesting that it used to work for you. Playing on speaker groups via voice command or routine to my Google Nest speakers has never worked. Not from day one, about three years ago, regardless of any updates. People have been reporting this problem on this forum and elsewhere for years, and there is zero response from Google, so...
