I am having the same trouble. Just unboxed my nest hub 2 gen. I am unable to swipe left as well. When I do, there is a curated art screen which shows the same picture as the home screen.

Hey avneetdhillon,
Have you tried resetting your display? If so, what's the cast firmware and software version of your Google Nest Hub? If possible, send us a short video clip.
Best,
Alex

Hey lulumelon,
Thanks for the information. Just an added question: what country are you located in? Also, could you send a video showing the issue so we can further check what's going on with your device.
Looking forward to your response.

I'm in the US. However, I was trying to do some workaround myself, so the issue is no longer happening with my workaround.
This is my experience:
- When the issue happened, I noticed the Weather beside the clock in the Slideshow is showing double dashes (- -).
- I asked "Hey Google, what's the weather?"
- It told me the weather
- I unplugged my device
- Plugged it in again
- Now I can see the weather showing and I can swipe left.

This fixed it for me too. Nice finding. Also not to be rude to the community specialist in here but I don't think you really need a video to understand the problem that swiping left from the right edge of the screen doesn't work. That's literally the problem. Normally swiping left would show you different screens like home control or media control or your daily summary but they simply didn't exist when I was trying to swipe

This fix worked! You're the real hero in this thread - thanks!

Brand new nest hub gen 2 and having the same problem. Won't swipe left. I learned this while doing the tutorial. I know you want a video but there's nothing to see but the screen with a pic on it.

Hi sivadart,
I'm sorry to hear you're also having the same concern. Is the voice command working or even responding to command? Try these steps: unplug the power cord from the power outlet and from your Nest Hub 2nd Gen. Keep it unplugged for 5 mins then plug it back in using the same sequence and tell me how it goes.
Best,
Dan

Same issue. Just bought and unboxed. Even if the steps above did work, now I can't complete the tutorial and don't know how all the commands and gestures on the device work. Extremely frustrating first impressions.

Hi MakotoA,
Sorry to hear about your experience. Could you post a video showing the issue so we can take a deeper look?

Unfortunately, I already skipped past this. It seems like swiping left does not work because during the tutorial stage, there isn't anything else available. There appears to be nothing to "swipe" too, so it gets stuck on this phase and you can't proceed with the tutorial.
After unplugging the device and powering it back on, the device was fully populated with with everything. I could ask Google to run the tutorial again and it went through the whole process without issue.
I'm not sure why this would be an issue specific to certain devices and not easily reproducible on a factory reset device. I don't want to reset mine just to try and get a video of the issue. The only difference I can think of is that my Google Home account is a Google Suite/Workspaces account, not sure if that'd cause any unique problems or not.

Hey MakotoA,
It's nice to hear that rebooting your device fixed it. Please note that we do not recommend using a business account like GSuite/Workspace account because some of the features will not work properly like saving and getting calendar events. Also, those accounts have an extra layer of security that prevents other devices from accessing such information.

I couldn't complete the tutorial on my brand new Google Nest Hub Gen 2. Swiping up worked. Yet I gave up trying to swipe left. I couldn't move the blue dot left as shown during the tutorial. This is a worry as I bought some for gifts and the tutorial is definitely a bad experience!

Try what lulumelon suggested above. It'll solve your issue
