Cannot connect Apple Music to my Nest Home speakers

Someone may have a solution for this connectivity issue, which, as I've read, has been happening for some time.

I called Google support, and they said this was an issue with Apple, not them.

I got no response from the Apple Music forum. 

I selected Apple Music as the default music app on the Google Home app. If I ask the Nest speakers to play music, it does so from Apple Music.

The issue is that I select a song on the Apple Music app on my iPod or iPad. However, the song only plays on Apple devices, and there is no option to connect the song currently playing to the Google Nest speakers.

• What troubleshooting steps did you take when you contacted Google support?
• Do you have this problem with other music services or only with Apple Music?
• What model of Google Nest speaker do you have?
• Were you able to cast from Apple Music to your Google Nest speakers before?
