We purchased a Google TV because we use Google hubs and nests throughout the house. We thought we'd be able to control the TV with our voices to change channels and watch movies on Netlfix, etc. Instead, we are frustrated beyond belief and are about ready to take the TV back. Google cannot carry out even the most basic voice commands. Going to a specific channel is the ONE thing we would like to be able to do with voice command and no matter what, it will not work. We are using an antenna to receive local channels and would like to be able to tell it to play those channels, for example, "Hey Google, go to channel 7.2 on the family room TV." Instead, we get, "Okay, playing channel 7.2 on YouTube." EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. No matter what channel we say, or how we say it (using word like "live" or "local channel" or "antenna" or the name of the channel instead of the number, or anything else we can think of), it ALWAYS tries to find it on You Tube! I am about to pull my hair out. We uninstalled all YouTube apps to see if that would help, and then it still tries to play on YouTube but can't. It repeats every channel request by trying to play it on YouTube. We have a Roku TV upstairs that handles the Google commands flawlessly. Why can the GOOGLE TV not understand commands to a GOOGLE device????? It is baffling and aggravating. I did a factory reset on ALL devices including the TV and started over, adding only the TV and one hub, and still the only thing it will do is to play channels on YouTube. I am about ready to throw all our hubs and nests in the river and start over with something new. This is insane. It should not be that difficult to tell Google to go to a TV channel on a GOOGLE TV!

Hi desigraham,
Thanks for reaching out. We hear you — we can understand why you feel that way. What is the make of your TV? I’m glad that the YouTube function is working and that everything is fine on your Roku too. Have you tried contacting the TV manufacturer to check if changing the channel is supported on their TV?
I look forward to your response.
Regards,
Juni
