Cannot use voice commands to play music on other speakers

I have an issue where I used to be able to say a voice command like 'play sleep music on kids bed speakers' or have it set up in a routine and google would then play that selected music on the speaker or group I asked it to.

Now it will only play it on the speaker I'm talking to,  regardless of whether I started a routine containing a command like this or use the command directly.

I have tried the workarounds, tried resetting the speakers (fun times when you have 7 of them),  tried regrouping, tried to say 'play the play list called sleep from spotify on kids bed speakers' and variants of it and none of it works.  Just  continues to play on the speaker I started the command from.  It's getting incredibly frustrating.

Hi Kittymenace,

Thanks for posting in the Community.

We're sorry to hear that you're experiencing this with your Google Nest speakers. Since reset has been done, let's try this workaround.

  1. Unplug your Google Nest speaker from the power source for at least a few minutes.
  2. As soon as it is already unplugged, do the same to your router.
  3. Once all the devices are all plugged in, try saying "OK Google, sync my devices".

Let me know how it goes.

Best,

Princess
