Casting to Chromecast and Nest

Neither casting to a premade speaker group nor manually routing casting to both a Nest and Chromecast seem to work in my home. Has anyone has the same issue or found a workaround?

I am trying to cast YouTube Music to a speaker group with both Nest a Chromecast, and it won't every play. The devices all chime, but the Chromecast just shows a loading circle and the music never plays through any of the speakers.

I can cast YouTube Music to the Chromecast if it is the only thing I cast to, but if I add other Nest speakers from the Media tab in the Home app I get a pop-up that says "Something went wrong. Please try again"

Similarly, I can cast to any of the Nest devices in any combination, but when I try to add the Chromecast, I get the same pop-up.

It appears - from my own experience and a number of threads on here - there's are currently some issues with Youtube casting to Nest/Google devices. Hopefully a fix arrives soon.

Hi Eztoth, thanks for posting. Sorry to hear about the trouble. I wanted to follow up and see if I could be of any help. A few things: which Chromecast device? When you try to play music for your group via voice command are you getting the same response? Do you have other music services? If so, have you tried using it to further isolate the issue?

You can reboot your Nest speakers, Chromecast and Wi-Fi router to refresh devices and Wi-Fi signal.
