Hi! I'm thinking of getting a Nest Hub (2nd gen). As I understand, each family member can use voice recognition to activate their Spotify family plan account for listening to music. Can the same be done with just the screen controls? Or will the screen just show my Spotify account If I was the one who set it up with Google Home in the first place?

Hi ChrisAhlund,
Thanks for your reply and the information provided. If you want to set up the Spotify family account on your Nest Hub 2nd Gen, you can try to invite the family members so they can be part of your home and set up your own Spotify account. Let me explain that you can not control the Spotify accounts on the screen controls, but you can do it by voice commands.
You can check the "Share a home and devices in the Google Home app" article for detailed information to invite home members to your home and the "Listen to music on Google Nest speakers and displays" for the voice commands that you can use.
Please let me know if you have more questions.
Best regards,
Jenny

Yes, the Nest Hub (2nd Gen) allows voice recognition to link multiple Spotify family accounts through Voice Match, so each family member can access their own account by using their voice. However, when using screen controls, the device typically defaults to the Spotify account that was initially set up in the Google Home app. To switch accounts on the screen manually, you may need to unlink and re-link the desired account or use voice commands to switch profiles before interacting with the screen. You may also use Spotify Premium for this purpose.

Hi ChrisAhlund,
Thanks for posting. I understand that you are interested in the Nest Hub 2nd Gen and linking your Spotify account on the device. In this case, let me explain that since a single person or multiple people are using a Google Nest or Home speaker or display, each person can only link a single account for each streaming service. About your question of the screen control, if you set up your account in the first place, you will be able to control it on the screen control. You can check the "Link your music services and set your default service" article for detailed information.
Please let me know if you have more questions.
Best regards,
Jenny

Hi, and thanks for the answer!
So my Spotify account will be the only accessible one if just the screen controls are being used?

Just the type of answer I wanted! To bad it doesn't work to switch between Spotify accounts with just the screen controls, but thanks for the info.

Yes, the Nest Hub (2nd Gen) supports multiple Spotify accounts through Voice Match, allowing each family member to access their own music. However, when using screen controls, the device typically defaults to the primary account set in the Google Home app. To switch accounts manually, you might need to unlink and re-link the desired account or use voice commands. If you're looking for a seamless experience, you can explore more about the Spotify app and enjoy personalized music access!

Yes! With the Nest Hub 2nd gen, voice recognition allows each family member to access their own Spotify Premium account when using voice commands. However, if you're using the screen controls, it will typically default to the Spotify account linked to the Google Home setup.
To switch accounts manually, you may need to unlink and relink a different Spotify account through the Google Home app. Unfortunately, there isn’t a direct account-switching option on the screen itself.
