Change the “hey google” wake command

Mike675

I look everywhere and find tons of post about wanting to change the “ok/hey google” wake command. I see where google support states “no you can’t do this”… but I never see “yes we are considering this feature” or better yet, “this feature will be implemented ##/##/####”

personally as a Trekkie, I’d love to use “computer” 😂

Alexa can do this, why can’t we? After spending apx $750 on smart clocks, light switches, nest minis, smart thermostats, etc…. I’d like a more detailed explanation/decision than just seeing/hearing… “Alexa supports this but Google won’t/don’t”

Hey Mike,

Thanks for your feedback - we hear you. We're always looking for ways to add more features on the Google Home/Nest devices like being able to customize the wake word. However, we don't have news to share at the moment on when this feature will be available. We'll take this as feedback and pass it along to the team. I also suggest that you send feedback using your devices by saying, "Hey Google, send feedback" or by following the steps on this link.

Cheers,

Muddi

Hi Mike675,

I'd also love for more wake words to be introduced especially different ones for the assistant on my phone so when at home I can differentiate that from my speakers and displays.

This is a community forum supported by other users and community specialists and we don't have any inside information about if or when Google release any new features, sorry.

Please leave feedback for the Google Nest team requesting this. I and many others have already.
