ChromeCast Audio : Fails to Connect

ChromeCast Audio  CCA :  Failed to connect / since new firmware

So since the Security Certificate Expiration problem and new firmware fix.
Specifically now - Apps etc.  can’t connect to a functioning CCA. It is random and the only resolution is a physical reboot. Then the wait until it occurs again.
If the CCA is not reset after awhile it starts to generate duplicate Group names.

My details:
Qty 6 CCA’s all on Firmware 1.56.467166
Qty 2 Nest Minis on Firmware 3.75.456944
Google HOME : 3.30.106

Multiple times: Unplugged all CCA’s, Mini's, shutdown router and Wi-Fi, then restarted each  1 by 1 – All work okay for a few hours then.....
Bottom Line : Strong Wi-fi to the CCA, you can ping the CCA and CCA port 8009 with no problem – but the CCA firmware does not respond to any requests- it is locked up.
Need a fix for this please!

Hi

Thanks for reaching out to the Google Nest community. I'm sorry to hear that your Chromecast is failing to connect since the new Firmware. I'm happy to help you right now.

I'd like to ask you a few questions in order to gather more information about the concern and find the best way to fix it.

  • What Chromecast device do you have?
  • Are you using an Android or iOS device?
  • Please make sure the Google Home app is fully updated.
  • Did you reset the Chromecast device and restart your phone?

Any additional details you can provide will be helpful.

Best regards,

Gabriela

Device ping  okay 1ms

Device ping /port 8009 succeeded!

Cast to device Failed to connect to Chromecast: tls: DialWithDialer timed out /context deadline exceeded

Duplicate Group Names different IP addresses same UUID

The temp fix: Unplug CCA and restart and it works – then the problem occurs on another CCA after a few hours later.
Bottom Line : Strong Wi-fi to the CCA, you can ping the CCA and CCA port 8009 with no problem – but the CCA firmware does not respond to any requests- it is locked up.

I Have tried  go-chromecast.exe and cast.exe with debug to gain additional information on the problem. But posting the debug sanitized info violates the community standards.

CCA stops responding to any cast commands or Google Home. Then It creates new duplicate group names saying it is the group controller IP.
