Chromecast google tv

I bought Google TV . Hooked it up. That is ok. What I want it to do is when I connect ( with tv remote I hit each one til I have what ubs google is on tv) I want it to show screensaver before hitting home button from google remote

I did have chromecast 2nd gen I believe. So when I connect to usb where it was on tv it showed screensaver right away until I went to phone and cast from there.
my question is, is there a way after connecting to usb (where google tv is in back of tv) that I get screensaver instead of blank screen? I do have the ambient mode set it goes I think after 10 mins.

after connecting I just hit home button on google tv remote and things work fine. Now the white circle that’s another issue. Anyway I just wanted screensaver to show

thank you

Hey there Sheila3,

I apologize for the late response, and thank you for being patient! Currently, there is no way to change the default behavior of the Chromecast with Google TV when it comes to launching. When you turn on your TV, the Chromecast will automatically turn on and display the Google TV home screen. If you want to see the screensaver, you will need to press the Home button on the Chromecast remote. There may be a 3rd party screensaver app that may give you the functionality you are looking for, but they are technically not Google endorsed.

I hope that helps, and if you have any other questions or concerns for me, please let me know.

Best regards,
Jeran

Thank you for the info. Shame it doesn’t. Maybe someday. Thanks again for the help.
