I have two Nest Minis paired to my Chromecast with Google TV for audio. Generally it works great. Nice sound quality in stereo, but it doesn't automatically pair when I turn on the TV. And, most annoyingly, the speakers regularly and sometimes randomly disconnect. Why does this happen and is there a way to fix this issue?
Thanks!

Hi Jake6,
Thanks for posting here in the Google Nest Community.
Thanks for bringing this up, and I’m sorry you had that experience. Let’s check what’s going on. A few things: When did the issue start? How often does it happen? What troubleshooting steps have been done? Are there error messages? Are there other nearby Bluetooth devices turned on?
You can do a sequential reboot. First, unplug your Nest Minis and Chromecast for 30 seconds, then do the same thing to your Wi-Fi router to refresh all devices and your Wi-Fi signal.
Let me know how it goes.
Regards,
Juni

Hi Juni,
This has been an issue from day one. It happens pretty regularly, though I haven't noticed a pattern to the disconnects. The best pattern I can come up with is "remaining idle" for a moment. Thought this moment can also be while searching for something to watch.
There haven't really been any trouble shooting steps as I can't find any steps to trouble shoot. Usually it's just a matter of reconnecting, which can be arduous as the speakers think they are still connected when they are not. There have been times when I have had to put the speakers back into pairing mode to reconnect them to the TV. Again with no apparent rhyme or reason.
The only message we ever see is that the speakers are disconnected.
Yes, there are other Bluetooth signals in the house. Phones, earbuds, other speakers. Sometimes on, sometimes not.
I have done reboots before, but can try that again.
Thank you for the response!
Jake

Hi Jake6,
Thanks for the follow up. You can factory data reset your Nest Minis to put them back to their default settings and set them up as a new device. Once done observe if it will make a difference. Check the steps below on how to do the reset.
Here’s how to do the reset, on the side of your Google Nest Mini, switch the mic off. The LEDs will turn orange. Press and hold the center of your Nest Mini, where the lights are on top. After 5 seconds, your Google Nest Mini will begin the factory reset process. Continue to hold for about 10 seconds more until you hear a sound confirming your Google Nest Mini is resetting.
Check out this article for more information.
Keep me posted.
Regards,
Juni
