Connecting a Logitech Bluetooth Receiver Adapter to my Lenovo Smart Display

Jtdagrava

I have a Lenovo Smart Display 8.  I want it to play audio through my stereo in my home.  In order to do this, I purchased a Logitech Bluetooth Receiver adapter (https://a.co/d/5SmNXn0) based on the setup I saw in a YouTube video (https://youtu.be/5lhWSEYdbWM).  All of the devices work independently just fine, I even tested the new bluetooth adapter with audio direct from my Pixel 6a.

The problem occurs when I try to add the Logitech BT Adapter to my Google Home.  I precisely follow the directions that I found here (https://support.google.com/googlenest/answer/7672356?hl=en&sjid=5569119338654934842-NA) and when I get to this step:

"...Tap Default music speaker and then Pair Bluetooth speaker. Your Google Nest or Home device will then scan for Bluetooth devices..."
There is no button for Pair Bluetooth speaker.  I see a list of the devices already set-up for Google Home, but no option to pair a new bluetooth speaker.

The YouTube video shows the exact same Logitech BT Receiver working just fine using the exact same steps.  Why am I not seeing the option to Pair Bluetooth Speaker???  The Lenovo website claims that my Lenovo Home device is capable of making bluetooth connections with speakers.  PLEASE HELP, WHY ISN'T THIS WORKING???!!!???

Hi Jtdagrava,

We understand that your issue is isolated with your Lenovo Smart display and Logitech Bluetooth receiver. Please note that we have very limited support on third party speakers with built-in Google Assistant like Lenovo. Best to report this with Lenovo support and Logitech support for better assistance.

If you need help with your Google Home or Nest devices, please do not hesitate to reply and let us know; otherwise, I'll be locking this thread after 24 hours.

Best,

Dan

Thanks for the reply Dan. But technically I'm not even touching the Lenovo while going through the steps I mentioned. I'm using the Google Home app on my iPhone. So should it even matter what brand the Home device is? It's the software of the Google Home app (on my iPhone) that is failing to show me the "pair Bluetooth speaker" option.

Hello Jtdagrava,

Please share a screenshot of the Google Home app showing the Default music speaker option so we can take a closer look into this. Provide us with the phone model and Google Home app version that you have installed as well.

Regards,
Lovely

Please do not close this thread, if possible. I was doing this work for a family member and she went out of town for a couple weeks. When she returns, I will get the screenshots and version numbers referenced above from her phone and provide them here.
