I have a fan with led lights on Smart Life connect to google assistant.

In the GH app, it can control both fan and lights on/off. ( but no fan speed)

In the Google nest hub, i lt can only control the fan and fan speed. cannot control the lights.

Please fix this bug

Hi rlch,

This is not the experience we want you to have; let us help you. A few questions: which Nest speakers are we working with? Is it a Nest Hub or Nest Hub (2nd Gen)? Was it working before? When did your issue begin? Were there any recent changes made? What is the error message when giving voice commands to your smart lights?

It would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot first:

  1. Unplug the power cord from your router, followed by your Nest speakers, then your smart lights.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

Also, try renaming your smart devices. Here’s how:

  1. Open the Google Home app Google Home app.
  2. Tap Settings .
  3. Under "Devices, groups & rooms", tap your device's tile
  4. Tap Name or Device information  Device name.
  • Tips for renaming your device:
    • Don't include numbers, special characters, or room names.
    • Avoid similar names (for example, "Table light left" and "Table light right").

Keep us posted.

Best,

Dan

Hi Dan, did all that but it did not help.

Mysetup is a new Gen 2 Google nest hub.

The google home app is the latest andriod ver on a samsung s21 ultra.

This is clear a software issue ... both the app and the google nest hub detected the fan device ok ... but GH app can control the lights but the google nest hub cannot control the lights, even if it has the control

Hello there,

To isolate further, kindly send us the firmware version of your devices. See the steps below.

To check which firmware version you're on, follow these steps:

  1. Open the Google Home app .
  2. Touch and hold your device's tile.
  3. Tap Settings   Device information.
  4. Under "Technical information," check for Cast firmware: "X.XXX.XXXXX." If the device is on Fuchsia, check for System firmware version: "X.XXXXXXXX.X.XXXXXXX"

Check the version on your Nest display:

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the display screen.
  2. Tap Settings   About device. You should find your "Cast firmware version."

Regards,

Dan
