Country selection in setup

Setting up google nest & it won’t let me continue after selecting country?

Same problem with me as well. Any suggestions on how to fix it

Hi folks,

 

@Jfoulis, @Sandeep789, this is not the experience we wanted you to have, let me help you. A few things: which Nest speakers are we working with? Is this the first time setting it up? What country are you located in?

 

What you need to get started ​:

 

  • A speaker or display.
  • Latest version of the Google Home app.
  • Latest version of the Google app.
  • A Google Account.
  • A mobile phone or tablet that:
    • Has Android 8.0 or later.
    • Works with 2.4 GHz and 5 GHz Wi-Fi network (a WPA-2 Enterprise network won't work).
    • Has Bluetooth turned on.
  • An Internet connection and secure wireless network.
  • If you already use Duo for video calling, make sure you use the same Google Account in Duo and in the Google Home app.

 

You can also try to change your region and/or language to EN-US and see if it works. You can do that on your phone’s settings.

This does not work. I think this is a update/app issue that needs to be corrected on the back end of google

Hello everyone,

 

May we know what phone you are using for the set up? If it's an iOS device, could you use an Android phone to set up your Nest speakers? It would help us a lot isolate your concern.

I am using iPhone 8+. The nest speakers that I am setting up are not the first time ones. I changed my wifi network and trying to add the device back to google home app.

Hello everyone,

 

Checking back to hear from you about the setup concern where the country selector is not available. How is it? Can you configure your Nest devices? If not yet then make sure the Google Home app on your phone is up-to-date. Go to Playstore or App Store to do the update. 

 

Also, if the issue persists, you can do a factory reset to restore your Nest devices to its default and original settings. Depending on your device, see this guide. Once the factory reset is complete, proceed with the setup.
