I have found a way to get rid of the cracking and popping sounds audible from the google nest mini and audio playing in stereo mode. The address the problem and correct it, you play the music in each speaker individually in mono mode. It appears that there’s a bug with the google home application and the stereo mode.
I have found that the popping and cracking sounds were related to the streaming platform used to play music. In my situation, I was using « Spotify » but as soon as I moved toward Youtube music (google or alphabet) the popping and cracking sounds went away immediately and I am no longer experiencing annoying sounds…
