Default speaker

When I try to play music on any device, it defaults to my kitchen hub. All speakers and hubs are set to themselves as default music speaker, but they still send to the kitchen hub - unless i specifically tell the unit to play on itself.

Is there another "household master" setting that will over-ride the individual device's default setting?

Hello Sheepster,

Thanks for visiting the Community.

Sorry to hear that you're having issues playing music on your Google Home and Nest devices. Let's dig deeper into this. A few questions: when did the issue start? What is your default music provider? What specific command are you using? Does it play a music video?

Please  reset the default speaker on the Google Home app. Below are the steps:

  1. Open the Google Home app.
  2. Tap Favorites or Devices .
  3. Tap the device's tile.
  4. Tap Settings > Audio > Reset (lower right corner).
  5. Reboot your speaker then check if it will have the same behavior.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi
