Hello!
First time post and a First world problem, but I bought a Hot Springs Hot Tub with included bluetooth speakers and am trying to connect to my Google Nest Mini speaker.
I followed the instructions online where I:
- Went to the Nest Mini in my Google Home app and selected "Audio" --> Paired Devices --> Enable Pairing Mode
- I then went back to the "Choose a Default Speaker" --> Pair a Bluetooth device
- My Hot Tub speaker was listed as an available device and i clicked Connect, However I got an error message "Cannot add bluetooth speaker"
I tried with two different mini's and a hub and get the same message. However I AM able to connect to the Hot Tub speaker and play music through my android phone and my husband's iPhone.
Are there any suggestions or any other products I could buy (non-Google) that would allow me to connect my Hot Tub Bluetooth speakers to the Google Home eco-sphere?
Final Note: My Hot Tub dealer says if a pairing code is requested, the code is: 0000, but none of my phones have ever asked for it.

Hi itssodanotpop,
Thanks for reaching out.
That's a very interesting device to connect with your Google Nest Mini. If this is a typical device just like any other speakers, you can try these steps:
Complete these steps if it’s the first time you’re connecting your speaker to your Google Nest or Home device.
Hope this helps.

Hi Princess,
I saw your post and this is what I did with multiple Nest mini speakers and even a Hub display. I just get a generic error message in Google Home app. Even though I'm able to connect my phones and other devices to the Bluetooth speakers....must be a Google bug.
Are there other options whereas I could get a non-Google device to connect to my spa bluetooth speaker and then have that connect to the Google Home ecosphere? Possibly Sonos?
Any options are helpful.
Thanks,
Bret

Hi Bret,
Thanks for responding. Have you already tried to connect your phone or other device to your hot tub and test if you can play media? Google Nest Mini supports Bluetooth® 5.0. If your Google Nest Mini can easily connect to other devices like phone and other speakers, there could be some settings on your hot tub that needs to be checked for it to connect to Google Nest and other speakers.

Hi Princess,
I have power-cycled the hot tub and it did not work. I have other devices able ti connect tot the hot tub....just not Google devices. The dealer did say that if prompted, the pairing code is 0000, however i was never prompted by Google Home to enter it.
There is also no UI for the Bluetooth speakers on the hot tub.
Any thoughts?

Hi Bret,
Thanks for checking.
Let's go ahead and perform a complete reset on your Google Nest Mini and set it up again. As soon as it is completely set up, try to connect it to your phone and see if it will connect. That way, we can further isolate the issue.
Keep me posted.
Best,
Princess

I also wanted to mention that I just tried connecting my Samsung SB330 to the Google Nest Mini and it ALSO did not work. Same error message. I think this is a Google issue.
UPDATE: I was ultimately able to connect the SB330 to another Nest Mini but it shows, to me, there may be instabilities in bluetooth pairing process Google uses. I wish there was a way to send logs of the pairing process so you could see the error occurring.

One last piece of information. After I get the error message and go back to the "Audio" menu, it shows the Mac address (not the device name) of the Bluetooth device under "Default Speaker" but is not shown in the "Paired Devices" section.

Hi Muddi!
Thanks for reaching out. I wanted to say that I reset the Nest Mini device and two other Google devices and it still did not work.
I wanted to mention, however that while we have been painfully working through this issue, I went out and bought an Amazon Echo Dot and was able to connect the Bluetooth speaker immediately. I'm actually playing music (Bastille) through the Hot Tub speakers with the Amazon Echo as I'm typing this....
This confirms that it is a GOOGLE software ISSUE. Please let me know what you need from me to release a bug fix.
Thanks,
Bret

Hey Bret,
We appreciate your efforts. If other Google Nest speakers won't connect, it looks like it's an issue with compatibility. Could you please provide your speaker's cast firmware version so I can forward this info to the team?
To check which firmware version you're on, follow these steps:
