Every night the Nest mini in our Master Bedroom is removed saying that I removed it.

I have a Nest mini speaker in our master bedroom (System firmware 437716).  It is hung on the wall about 10 feet from our primary Google Wi-fi point (model AC-1304 software version 14150.376.32).  Every night between 1 am and 4 am I get a notification in the home inbox: "Device removed . Master Bedroom speaker date, time.  my email address removed it from your home."  The device then shows in the Local devices in my Google Home app.  If I issue a voice command to the Nest Mini, it asks me to log in through the Google Home app.  I re-add the device, and everything is fine until the next morning.  How can I fix this?

I had the same problem with one of my Nest mini's last month. I even performed several factory resets, removed it from google home, used a different name, changed the room it was in but none of that stopped it from disconnecting every day. Sometimes the email address was mine but it could be the email address of anyone who is a family member.

I gave up on finding a solution to the problem and ended up just replacing it with a new one. I had gotten it free a few years back because of my YouTube premium subscription so it didn't cost me anything anyway.

I have the same problem, did it work after that? Here in Germany there are only a limited number of Nest Minis available in stores, I bought it from Mediamarkt and it takes time to get a replacement.

Hi there,

Thank you for reaching out to our community.

I’m sorry to hear that every night, between 1 am and 4 am, you’re getting in the home inbox the notification "Device removed. Master Bedroom speaker date, time. Your email address removed it from your home." and the device then shows in the Local Devices in your Google Home app. Thank you for sharing with us the firmware version of your Nest mini speaker in your master bedroom and providing important information such as the distance between your Nest mini speaker and your primary Google WiFi point (model AC-1304 software version 14150.376.32). I really appreciate you describing exactly what the Nest mini does when you issue a voice command, because it allows me to provide you with better assistance.

Before we get started with further troubleshooting, let me ask you some important questions:

  • How long did the Master Bedroom Nest mini speaker work before the connectivity issue started?
  • Are there other Nest speakers in the home?
  • Is your Master Bedroom Nest mini speaker a single speaker or in a stereo pair?
  • Is your Nest mini speaker grouped with other first-party or other third-party devices?
  • If you have more Nest speaker devices, is the master bedroom speaker the furthest away from the main Wi-Fi access point?
  • Did you change your Wi-Fi setup recently?
  • Could you please double-check whether your Nest mini speaker is now connected to a 2.4 or 5 GHz WiFi network?
  • Is there another Bluetooth signal available?
  • Could you please double-check if there are wireless interferences like walls and floors, nearby Wi-Fi networks, other electronics, cordless phones, baby monitors, microwaves, Bluetooth devices, and wireless video equipment?

Thanks for your kind attention; I will be looking forward to your answer.

Sincerely,

Virna
