I have an external speaker connected by Bluetooth to play relaxing music at night. Despite advise in the set-up, everything is playing through the external speaker including responses and alarms. I only want media to play to the external speaker. How do I achieve this?

This is also happening on my Kichen hub.

Hi ChrisB72,
Thanks for posting in the Community.
Setting a default speaker will do that for you. Stream music that plays on your Google Nest or Home speaker or display to your favorite Bluetooth speakers or headphones. Make sure to follow these steps:
Note: All media playback will play on the external speaker that’s paired with the Google Nest or Home device. Alarms, timers and Google Assistant's responses will play on your Google Nest or Home device.
Complete these steps if it’s the first time you’re connecting your speaker to your Google Nest or Home device.
Hope this helps.
Best,
Princess

Thanks Princess,
That is exactly what I did. Currently there is no separation in output. Everything (including responses, alarms and music) goes to the bluetooth speaker unless it is disconnected. This never used to be the case. It would seem an update has broken the streaming separation.
Many users are now reporting the same ussue.

This is happening on 3 devices, a reset does nothing. It's simply a firmware update that has issues. Only Google can fix, and they are not interested!

The issue us happening on 3 devices. Current firmware number is irrelevant, there are many people with the same issue, Google just need to issue a fix. That's all!

Why fill in a form that will be ignored. The problem is simple enough to fix!
