Goggle assistant does not respond 'til second time

Hello:

I have a mixture of Google Homes and Google Home Minis and Nest Audios and a Nest Hub and even a JBL Link View (which is awesome). So, lotsa stuff.

But the problem is the same throghout the system, and it's getting worse. Probably 25% or more of the time my wife and I ask a question or issue a command, they won't "hear" and/or obey us *until* we've gone through the whole procedure a second time. It's almost like Goggle Assistant has hearing problems, but *only* the first time.

So I'll say "Okay, Goggle, turn on the bathroom light." And it'll say, "Sorry, blah, blah, blah," or sometimes it won't say anything at all. But then it hears me and quickly responds if I say it all again.

This happens to both my wife and me numerous times every day. On all devices. It's getting quite annoying. I bought into the system early, in 2017. This problem has never been as bad as it is now.

Any potential solutions? Thanks in advance.

Same problem over here, since a few weeks. Before that, all perfect. I run a ubiquiti network. When I reconnect the connection within the Unifi-controller software, it works again... for half an hour and then the same problems again.  I usually need four time same instruction before we get want we want.

Hello folks,

My apologies for the late response. I know the feeling when you're having issues with your Google Home and Nest speakers. Let's try to get to the bottom of this.

A few questions:

  • When did the issue start?
  • How far are your speakers from your router?
  • Have you made any recent changes to your router settings?
  • What is the make and model of your router?

To ensure optimal signal strength, we recommend placing your speakers within 15-20 feet of your router. Also, you can try setting up one of your devices on a different network, such as a mobile hotspot. Please note that for this setup, you will need two mobile devices - one to act as a router and the other to set up your speaker. Once completed, check if your device exhibits the same behavior.

Let me know how it goes.

Cheers,

Muddi
