Google Home Trouble

Kfree
Community Member

Hello,

So i have a google home that says that it’s connected to the wifi, but cannot connect to the IPhone I’m using.  I’ve tried looking in my Privacy settings to allow Access, but it’s not even show Google Home as an option to turn it on. Any suggestions on how to fix this?

thanks in advance

Hey Kfree,

That certainly hasn't been easy for you — let's check this out.

To confirm, are you using a private network? If so, do you have a dual-band router? Make sure your devices are within 15-20 feet of your router.

Give these steps a try:

  • Reboot your router, Google Home and phone to refresh your connection.
  • Uninstall and reinstall your Google Home app.
  • Toggle Wi-Fi off/on in your phone settings.
  • Check router settings. (AP isolation must be disabled and UPnP must be enabled).
  • If you're using an iOS, turn on Local network access for the Google Home app. Here's how: Privacy > Local Network > Google Home app.
  • If all fails, try resetting your Google Home to its default settings.

Looking forward to your response.

Thanks,

Alex
