Google Home Won't connect to Wi Fi

About 6 days ago, my Google Home disconnected from my wi-Fi. I've tried restarting it, resetting it, even resetting my modem and router. It will not reconnect. Currently, it is sticking on the enter Wi-Fi password screen, saying 'Connection problem during setup.'
I've verified the password is correct, and have no issues with my other google home devices (mini's, one 1st gen, one 2nd gen) connecting.
Is it possible that the Home is just... kaput?

Hi iskabibbley,

Thanks for posting. I'm sorry to hear about the issue you are experiencing with your Google Home device not connecting to Wi-Fi and just giving you the "Connection problem during setup" error while you are trying to reconnect it. I appreciate the steps you have already taken and the detailed information. Don't worry; help is here. I just need some information.

  • How long did the device work as intended before the issue started?
  • Where's the device placed?
  • How far is the Google Home device from the Wi-Fi router?
  • Are there any other networking devices on the network aside from the wireless router, such as an extender, repeater, or another access point?
  • What's the Google Home device's firmware version?

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,
Jenny

For the Home device's working period? I guess something over 7 years or so?
It is placed on my kitchen bartop.
I'd guess it's something like 10 feet from the Router.
I do not use other networking devices.
I can't exactly tell what the firmware version since the device will not allow me past the connect to wi-fi screen, sorry. I do have a 1st gen Home Mini and a Home Mini 2nd gen (or is it nest mini? idk), with firmware versions 468362 and 468348, respectively, if that helps

Hi iskabibbley,

Thanks for your response and all the information provided. In this case, you can try the next steps to solve the situation:

  1. Reboot the Wi-Fi router.
  • Unplug the Wi-Fi router from the power source for 2 minutes.
  • Ensure that the router's lights turn off completely when unplugged.

     2. Reboot the Google Home device.

  • Disconnect the power cable from the speaker.
  • Leave it unplugged for approximately one minute.
  • Reconnect the power cable back into the speaker.

For one of the last resorts, perform a factory reset on the Google Home device. You can check the "Factory reset Google Nest or Home speakers or displays" article to find out.

Please keep me posted.

Best regards,

Jenny

Thanks. I had to do it a couple times before it finally worked. Especially considering that this is pretty much the same thing i did before posting here in the first place xD
