Google Home and Apple Music

I ask Google Home to play music. It will say playing Apple Music and nothing comes on. When I ask it to play one of my playlists, it will but not just general music. Am I missing something? It used to play music with no problems a few months ago.

Hi Tjohn127,

 

This is not the experience we want you to have, let me help you. A few questions: which Nest speakers are we working with? Do you have an Apple Music premium subscription? Also, was it working before?  Is the issue happening when casting from your device or via voice command?

 

Could you try relinking your Apple Music account from the Google Home app? Reinstalling the Google Home app might get us going. Also, it would help a lot if you could do a sequential reboot, too:

 

  1. Unplug the power cord of your router, followed by your Nest speakers.
  2. Plug them back in after 3 minutes.
  3. Restarting your phone might also help.

Hi, I just figured out how to reply back. I have not tried all of the options you suggested but will do so over the weekend. For now, as long as I provide a playlist name it will play. If I just say play music it will say playing music from Apple but nothing plays. I’ll keep you posted and thank you for the options.
